It's been about 3 weeks since I wrapped up my job at Azavea. I'm just getting the hang of having a substantial amount of free time. Here's what I'm up to...
As the Community Chair for the FOSS4G NA Conference next month in Raleigh, I've been keeping busy getting the word out about all the fun stuff happening at the event. I'm really looking forward to it. This will be my first time in Raleigh and I am excited to explore the city, see some family and go camping after the conference. You can check out this Q/A with me too!
I've also been catching up on all the boring stuff I've neglected recently. I did my taxes, sorted my health insurance, giving my car some TLC, etc. All boring mundane things that take time... and now I have the time!
Happily, I'm working on some creative things too. I'm trying to hunt down a typewriter to work on some correspondence and art projects. I've been making plantable seed paper and preparing some cool packages to send to my pen pals!
I've also been planning a trip to Berlin from May 10-June 9. I'm so thrilled to have this time off and traveling was at the top of my list of things to do. I love Berlin, the culture, the food and the beer! So, if you're in or near Berlin, let's hang out while I'm there! I'll also be in Brussels and London (for the London Map fair) during my trip.
Most importantly I've been catching up with close friends and colleagues. It's been fantastic to see everyone, chat over a drink or lunch and reconnect.
